NOT A FIGHT BUT AN EMBRACE is a live performance commissioned by Awaytomars - the online clothing community - at the Fundação Centro Cultural de Belém (CCB).
Within this piece, Diane Giraud elaborates on the capture of moments and her reflections on intimacy whilst nodding at the "Anthropométries" of Yves Klein.
Inspired by the thought that "time does not exist only memory does", she is investigating further the process of reminiscence within our physical bodies with the collaboration of dancer and choreographer Filipa Peraltinha, who is involved as the artist's “living brush” and model / "living canvas" Diogo Guerreiro.
Filipa Peraltinha is a dancer, choreographer and teacher, performing and giving classes in countries worldwide including Sweden, Australia, the USA and France.
Trained at the Academia de Dança Contemporânea de Setúbal, Portugal, her career includes renowned institutions such as The Cullberg Ballet, LN Dance Company and Companhia Paulo Ribeiro.She has worked with choreographers and mentors such as Mats Ek, Crystal Pite, Johan Inger, Alexander Ekmanans and Rui Horta.
A choreographer herself, Filipa Peraltinha has created a number of pieces over the years including recently A Spark of Sanity ( Teatro Ibérico 2017 ), Dual Strategy ( ADCS, 2017 ), Whatever Comes ( Impulse Dance Australia, 2015 ), Prefácio ( IV International Dance Festival, 2017 ).
